Then, after fighting traffic for over an hour to go 10 miles, I discovered that power was still out at work. Annoyingly enough, they failed to send me an email, IM or voice mail message telling me they had no juice. What a Mickey Mouse outfit. Then I was told it might be days before the power came back, so I went grocery shopping.
Got home and powered up the lap top and discovered, yes, PECO had restored power to work.
At least this was more exciting when it happened. Last time, lightening hit the transformer outside our neighborhood and it glowed blue for about a minute before it faded. This time, the lightening hit a tree, which shattered, dropping pieces on the lines and catching fire in the process. I've never actually seen a tree burn before and, even though the rain put it out quickly, I really don't need to see that again. Way too close to my house, thanks.
